2024 Shinhan Young Artist Festa
프로젝트팀 XXX는 현대 사회가 젊고 새로운 것을 지향하는 “Anti-aging”이라는 기치 아래 작동한다고 보았다. “Anti-aging”이라는 항상성은 도시가 탄생하고 소멸하는 메커니즘이며, 노인 세대가 달성할 수 없음에도 불구하고 사회가 이들에게 요구하는 기준이라는 것이다. 오래된 도시는 동시대의 경제 논리 속에서 재개발 지역이라는 이름을 부여 받으며, 노인은 한 때 사회를 지탱하는 핵심 구성원이었다가 나이듦에 따라 변두리로 밀려난다. XXX는 노인 세대와 도시에 “Anti-aging”이 필요하다고 간주하는 시각에서 비껴나, 이들 삶이 그리는 숨결의 리듬에서 생성과 소멸을 결정짓는 또 다른 작동방식의 가능성을 찾고자 한다. 전시는 <오래된 집>. <일만 섬의 집>, <Bubble-Bubble>, <숨숨집> 네 개의 섹션으로 구성되며, 각각 재개발로 사라질 할머니의 집, 만석동 구도심 탐구, 집값 상승이라는 세태, 도시의 소멸과 생성이라는 주제로 이야기를 전개한다.
The project team XXX operates under the slogan of "Anti-aging," which is aimed at the youthful and innovative tendencies of modern society. This notion of "Anti-aging" is a constant in urban birth and decay mechanisms, representing the standards society demands of the elderly generation, even though they may not be attainable. Aging cities are often labeled as development areas within the logic of contemporary economics, pushing the elderly from once being core members supporting society to the outskirts as they age. XXX seeks to navigate around the perspective that considers the need for "Anti-aging" in both the elderly generation and the city, exploring the possibility of another mode of operation that determines creation and destruction in the rhythm of their lives. The exhibition is divided into four sections: "Old Houses," "Houses of the Ten Thousand Islands," "Bubble-Bubble," and "Hidden Homes." Each section unfolds stories on themes such as the grandmother's house disappearing due to redevelopment, exploration of the old downtown of Manseok-dong, the phenomenon of rising property prices, and the themes of urban destruction and creation.
