<Six Holes Two Triangles Skewer Corridors>, Single Channel Video, 11min 40sec, 2022

  "여섯 개의 구멍, 두 개의 삼각형, 꼬챙이 복도"는 작가가 거주하는 친할머니댁 옥상의 독특한 구조를 도형으로 서술한 것이다. 할머니에게 3층 집은 고된 결혼 생활을 버티고 홀몸으로 외아들을 악착같이 키운 결실이자 트로피였다. 하지만 지속해서 발생하는 집수리 문제는 지난한 삶에 대한 보상이라는 3층 집의 위상을 조금씩 무너뜨렸다. 작가는 이해하기 어려운 집의 구조를 통해 건축에 대한 전문성이 부족했고 주먹구구식으로 일을 처리하곤 했던 그 시절을 엿볼 수 있다고 보았다. 이에 건축물의 역사에 담긴 시대적 상황과 이 모든 어려움에 맞서야 했던 할머니의 이야기를 엮어내고자 한다. 건축가 양인혁, 조경가 차민성과의 협업으로 과거와 현재, 미래의 시점에서 3층 집을 바라보며 거주지에 대한 사유를 전개하고자 한다.

  "The six holes, two triangles, and Skewer Corridors" is a description of the unique structure of the rooftop at my grandmother's house, depicted in geometric shapes. To the grandmother, the three-story house was both the fruit of enduring a difficult marriage and raising her eldest son alone, like a trophy. However, ongoing repair issues gradually undermined the status of the three-story house as a reward for a lifetime of struggles. I saw glimpses of the past when expertise in architecture was lacking, and problems were often dealt with in a makeshift manner, through the complex structure of the incomprehensible house. Therefore, the artist seeks to weave together the story of the grandmother, who faced all these difficulties against the backdrop of the historical context embedded in the architecture and collaborated with architect Yang In-hyuk and Cha Min-seong to develop a discourse on the residence, looking at the three-story house from the perspectives of the past, present, and future.
